Your Workplace Fire Marshal Training Legal Requirements

What are your fire marshal training legal requirements and how do they affect you and your company..?

Workplace fire safety within any company, large or small and the legislation concerning this is contained within the the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This paper has been designed to simplify the existing fire safety within the workplace legal requirements.

This order made it a legal requirement within companies that all staff members in a business environment, either large or small had to receive at least some form of basic fire warden or fire marshal training.

All employers have a responsibility to their staff and to their business to ensure that the company appoints a sufficient number of “responsible persons” . These “responsible persons” will be trained as fire wardens or fire marshals and will aid and assist in an emergency fire situation within the workplace.

The number of designated fire wardens or fire marshal you will need to train will depend on the amount of staff within your organisation and the type of work your business offers. For example a care home would require more trained fire marshals than a small office of 5 able bodied staff members.

We Can Help You Stay Compliant...

We can help you to meet your workplace fire marshal training legal requirements within your organisation by offering online fire marshal training, which consists of a general fire marshal training certificate, fire marshal course for care homes, or a stand alone fire extinguisher training programme.

Training can be completed as an individual, or we can offer a company administration panel so a company administrator can monitor staff members as they progress through each course.
