Workplace Fire Warden Training Do We Need It.?

The Regulatory Reform ( Fire Safety ) Order 2005 has made fire training within the workplace a legal requirement, ensuring that all staff members in a business environment receive at least some form of basic workplace fire warden or fire marshal training.

Depending on the size of the organisation all employers have a responsibility to ensure that their business has a sufficient number of responsible persons and this will depend on the size and type of your business.

For example you would need a greater number of fire wardens or fire marshals within a care sector environment, as opposed to a small office with only 5 staff members and this is also relevant to the number of staff within your business.

What is a Fire Warden or Fire Marshal?

A fire warden or fire marshal is a person who has been trained in fire evacuation procedures, but also has a responsibility to the workplace for fire safety. Their role includes fire equipment is in date and in good order, fire escapes are kept clear and people are kept up to date with the relevant fire safety training.
